NITO and NIVA are examining how independent live music businesses can coordinate more effectively through a six-question survey of venues and promoters, facilitated by Bandsintown.

NITO (National Independent Talent Organization) represents independent agents and managers. NIVA (National Independent Venue Association) represents venues, promoters and festivals.

The survey covers issues affecting bookings and show preparation, including:

  • The impact of local opening acts.
  • Timing between the delivery of promotional materials, show announcements and ticket sales launches.
  • The effects of agents holding dates for potential bookings.

Both organizations will share the results and use the findings to improve workflows affecting bookings and the success of individual shows.
