Patoranking Releases New Single ‘Shake That’ Featuring Ruger

Nigerian artist Patoranking has released a new single, ‘Shake That’, with a contribution from Ruger.

Nigerian singer and songwriter Patoranking has released a new single titled ‘Shake That’ featuring fellow Nigerian artist Ruger.

Follow-Up to Previous Release

The release follows Patoranking’s earlier collaboration this year, ‘African Soldier’, featuring Jamaican dancehall artist Buju Banton. ‘Shake That’ is anticipated to be included on Patoranking’s fifth studio album.

Production and Style

Yungwillis and Dwillsharmony produced the track. ‘Shake That’ combines Afrobeats and dancehall elements, with lyrical themes focusing on attraction, self-assurance, and dance culture. The song showcases Patoranking’s vocal style alongside a contribution from Ruger.

Music Video

A music video for ‘Shake That’, directed by Dammy Twitch, has also been released.

Artist Statement

Patoranking stated the song was created to offer a more upbeat sound following the themes explored in ‘African Soldier’. He said, “After ‘African Soldier’, I wanted to give my fans something for the summer. ‘Shake That’ is that energy. Ruger brought the vibes and it was nice linking with Ikel Marvelous again, he did the ‘Suh Different’ intro, and he’s on the intro on this too.”

Tour Announcement

Patoranking also commented, “Yeah man, I’m excited about this one. This summer we are dancing, I’m back on the road again, I’ll be in the UK and across Europe this summer, yeah catch me and the band, we outside.”

Upcoming Tour Dates

The release coincides with the announcement of Patoranking’s Fire 2026 European tour. The tour is currently scheduled to include performances in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, with further dates to be announced.

Artist Background

Patoranking began his career in Lagos and has achieved international recognition through a discography that incorporates Afrobeats, reggae, and dancehall. His well-known songs include ‘My Woman My Everything’ and ‘Alubarika’, and he has collaborated with artists such as Major Lazer, Popcaan and Bryson Tiller.

Philanthropic Work

Beyond his music, Patoranking is involved in charitable work through the Patoranking Foundation and holds the position of Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Africa with the United Nations Development Programme.
