Piper Connolly, a 15-year-old pop artist from Los Angeles, has released a new single titled ‘Beautiful Life.’ The track was co-written and produced by South African musician Esjay Jones and serves as the lead release from Connolly’s forthcoming EP, a project the pair wrote together in its entirety.
A Transatlantic Collaboration
Connolly said the partnership with Jones began during a songwriting session where they connected immediately over a shared creative vision. She noted that Jones encouraged her to develop her own voice rather than reshape her identity, an approach that strengthened her songwriting while preserving her personal style. The session quickly grew into the foundation for a full EP.
Jones, who established an international career in Los Angeles after emerging from South Africa, brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the project. Connolly expressed hope that the single would introduce her music to South African listeners and said she aims to perform in the country in the future.
EP and Lyrical Themes
‘Beautiful Life’ opens an EP that Connolly describes as a story about growing up, making mistakes, finding genuine friendships, and recognizing beauty during difficult moments. The lyrics touch on young love, close friendships, and summer memories while delivering a broader message about accepting uncertainty and embracing change.
Connolly said she wants the songs to resonate with audiences of all ages by approaching her music with sincerity rather than presenting an unrealistic picture of perfection.
Music Video and Visuals
An official music video, directed by Kev Creature, accompanies the release. The visual production expands on the song’s themes of friendship, self-discovery, and change, offering a fuller introduction to Connolly’s artistic identity.
Jones on Connolly’s Potential
Jones praised Connolly’s authenticity and boldness, stating that while talent can open doors, authenticity is what creates lasting success. She noted that Connolly possesses a clear understanding of her artistic identity, which made the collaboration one of the most rewarding of her recent career. Jones added that ‘Beautiful Life’ is only the beginning of a much larger artistic journey.
