The Recording Academy has issued invitations to more than 4,000 music creators and professionals to join its 2026 new member class, granting them the ability to vote on future Grammy Awards.
Among the invitees are Lola Young and sombr, both of whom were nominated for Best New Artist at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in February. Other notable names on the list include rapper Cash Cobain, singer-songwriter EJAE, R&B artist Raveena Aurora, and rock band Sleeping With Sirens.
EJAE co-wrote several songs for the KPOP Demon Hunters soundtrack, including the track “Golden.”
Those who accept the invitation gain access to mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities, in addition to becoming eligible to vote in the Grammy Awards process.
The Academy restructured its membership recruitment in 2019, adopting a community-driven, peer-reviewed model aimed at increasing diversity within its ranks.
“I am so happy to be part of the Recording Academy New Member Class of 2026,” Lola Young said. “As a recording artist, I believe the Grammys represent the most prestigious award you can receive. Being a member now means I am part of a community of incredibly talented people who champion real musicianship, diversity, and legacy.”
