Reservoir Media has acquired José Feliciano’s recorded music catalog, adding the songwriter and performer’s recordings to its portfolio as it expands its Latin music holdings in 2026.
The agreement includes non-exclusive rights to Feliciano’s name, image and likeness. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Six decades of recordings
Feliciano is recognized as the first Latin artist to cross over into mainstream Anglo-American pop. His catalog includes “Feliz Navidad,” among the world’s most-played holiday songs.
He also wrote and performed the theme for the television series Chico and the Man. His other works include:
- “Rain”
- “Affirmation”
- “Let’s Find Each Other Tonight”
Over a six-decade career, Feliciano has released more than 60 albums and won multiple GRAMMY Awards. His collaborators have included John Lennon, Joni Mitchell and Bill Withers.
Donna Caseine, Reservoir’s Executive Vice President, Global Creative Director, said:
“José Feliciano’s incredible gift extends far beyond the accomplished hit ‘Feliz Navidad.’ His catalog is extensive, with countless bilingual recordings that helped popularize Latin music with a global audience. José’s legacy is a credit to the high-quality, popular music he has written and shared with the world for over half a century, and it’s an honor to champion José and his body of work at Reservoir.”
Reservoir’s recent catalog deals
The Feliciano agreement follows by days Reservoir’s announcement that it had acquired jazz composer Billy Strayhorn’s publishing catalog.
Reservoir’s Latin music expansion in 2026 has also included a June joint venture with Latin music company TU Publishing and the July acquisition of independent label Nacional Records’ catalog.
