SoundCloud and Twitch are partnering on SoundCloud Sessions, a 12-hour DJ livestream marathon taking place today (June 26) from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. PT, with an open invitation for DJs worldwide to perform.
The event, hosted on SoundCloud’s official Twitch channel, will feature sets from DJs who have built audiences across both platforms.
In a joint statement, the companies said:
“An open call goes out for DJs globally across every scene to go live on Twitch and perform for fans around the world.”
The collaboration highlights the community-driven features of both services, where electronic music remains one of SoundCloud’s fastest-growing genres. Use of the #DJset tag on SoundCloud has risen 39% year over year, and niche scenes such as hard techno and UK garage are forming global communities on the platform.
The event arrives as livestreaming experiences renewed interest following the pandemic-era boom. Rival platform Kick, owned by online casino company Stake, has recently seen a sharp increase in viewership, though it has faced criticism over lower content regulation barriers.
