Zara Larsson and EsDeeKid Expand Presence in Gaming Platforms

Artists Zara Larsson and EsDeeKid are launching interactive experiences within Roblox and Fortnite, respectively, offering fans new ways to engage with their music.

Zara Larsson was among the first artists to achieve success on Roblox, exceeding $1 million in virtual merchandise sales from her initial activation in 2021. She is returning with Zara Larsson’s Midnight Sun World, a new virtual experience developed by Sony’s Immersive Music Studios team. The experience, which premiered on May 15, features performances of three songs from Larsson’s ‘Midnight Sun’ album, alongside ‘obby’ obstacle-course mini-games, flower-planting, and a virtual scavenger hunt. Virtual merchandise is available for purchase using Robux.

Roblox is also hosting the return of its ‘My Eurovision Party’ experience, intended as a companion to the song contest’s semi-finals and final.

Rapper EsDeeKid is launching content within Fortnite today, including an official outfit, accessories, and emotes available in the game’s store, as well as three ‘Jam Tracks’ for use in its Festival mode.

Meta is also continuing to offer music experiences through its VR headsets, with the recent free release of ‘The Goo Goo Dolls from the Beacon Theatre’ via its ‘Horizon TV’ app.
