Nigerian superstar Wizkid will headline the opening night of Detty December Fest 2026 in Lagos, performing on December 18 to launch a two-week celebration of music, culture, fashion, and food that runs through December 30.
The festival, produced by Livespot360, introduces a major format change this year with the addition of a second stage. Wizkid will top the bill on the main Festival Stage, while the new Pulse Stage will spotlight emerging artists and fresh sounds shaping the next generation of African music.
Darey Art Alade, Livespot co-founder and chief creative officer, said the expansion reflects the growing global influence of African music. “This platform will allow emerging performers to share the festival with established stars and contribute to the continued growth of Africa’s music ecosystem,” Alade said.
Wizkid’s headline appearance follows a period of collaborative releases. In January, he teamed up with Asake on the joint EP Real, Vol. 1. He spent much of 2025 touring behind his 2024 album Morayo, which reached No. 4 on Billboard’s World Albums chart. Recent singles include:
- “Dynamite” with Tyla
- “Gimme Dat” with Ayra Starr, which earned a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards
Tickets for Detty December Fest 2026 are now available through official channels. Additional headliners and performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
