Beutara, a French-registered independent music publisher with operations in Cameroon and Senegal, is expanding into digital distribution, rights management, and platform representation as it builds a continental catalog across Africa.
The company is approaching four years of legal existence as of June 2026 and is targeting both African and international markets.
Catalog and Expansion Plans
Beutara operates through Beutara Cameroon in Central Africa and a regional office in Dakar, Senegal. Its publishing catalog includes artists such as:
- Emilio Bissaya
- Valdez Mbang
- Jay Lou Avah
- Natascha Bizo
- Julia Young
- Mika, a Senegalese artist
- MBN, a Congolese artist
- Peckey Power
- Princess Léo
- Sanzy Viany
The company supports creators, independent African publishers, and music professionals in structuring, promoting, and monetizing works at local and international levels.
Beutara plans to expand catalog placement across film, television, advertising, trailers, video games, and other media. It is also exploring catalog acquisitions from selected artists and songwriters.
Its strategic goals include expanding business activities, increasing catalog visibility, and developing international partnerships.
African Hub and Platform
Beutara says it is operating with limited financial resources in an under-structured African music publishing market. In 2025, the company launched development of an African hub aimed at building a large-scale continental catalog.
The initiative is intended to improve its global competitiveness and market positioning. By facilitating international catalog sales and synchronization opportunities, Beutara seeks to open financing channels that have been difficult to access. The company states this can help African creators benefit from capital flows, secure the value of their works, and diversify revenue streams.
At a pan-African level, Beutara plans to bring together self-produced, self-published, and unsigned creators on a unified platform. Creators in cities such as Dakar, Rabat, and Abidjan would gain stronger international representation.
The platform’s core objective is to give African publishing professionals and creators access to the global music publishing market while ensuring transparent and direct access to royalties from digital platforms.
African Music Publishing Summit
Beutara has launched the first edition of the African Music Publishing Summit (SAEM), a continental platform focused on structuring the African music publishing market.
Key missions defined for the summit include:
- Bringing together African music publishers
- Structuring the music publishing industry across Africa
- Promoting fair compensation for creators
- Supporting the professionalization of industry stakeholders
- Connecting Africa to international markets
- Facilitating revenue generation for creators
- Acting as a bridge between Africa and the global music publishing industry
