YouTube has extended its exclusive livestream agreement with the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival through 2030. The prior deal was set to expire this year.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The extension covers official streams for both weekends of the festival.

Partnership history

YouTube and Coachella began working together in 2012. The at-home viewing tradition has since become widely known as Couchella.

YouTube said the 2026 stream drew the highest number of simultaneous viewers in the partnership’s history, though it did not release specific figures.

Streaming features

Since the first broadcast, the livestream has added integrations including:

  • Shorts from lineup artists
  • Merchandise sales
  • Viewer-specific options for the at-home audience

This year, electronic artist Anyma used visuals during a headlining set that were available only on the livestream.

Executive comment

Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music at YouTube, said:

“Every April, music fans across the globe turn to YouTube to experience the energy and unforgettable performances of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Over the past decade and a half, the Coachella livestream on YouTube has evolved from a single feed into a full interactive experience. For artists, Coachella on YouTube offers a global stage that extends far beyond the festival grounds. Performers can reach billions of international viewers to kick off their next album cycle, launch their own world tour, experience a collaboration they’ve dreamed of, or introduce the new look we’ll all be rocking this summer. As we look toward 2027, YouTube will continue delivering behind-the-scenes access and exclusive artist content.”
