Beatport Launches New Software Designed to Identify Music Played in Clubs

Beatport launches Track ID, an AI-powered feature in its mobile app that identifies layered, pitch-shifted, and remixed tracks in loud club environments.

The tool is called Track ID, and it can identify tracks even if the audio has been manipulated

Beatport, the DJ and dance music platform, has launched Track ID. Similar to Shazam, this function can identify tracks being played externally, but unlike Shazam, it can find proper tracks even if they’ve been altered with effects or layered with other tracks.

The function is available in the Beatport mobile app.

Once the track is identified, it will be added to a history with every other track identified on the user’s account.

Those tracks can then be streamed, added to Beatport playlists, or purchased in the Beatport store.

The app was designed to capture tracks in clubs even when DJs manipulate the audio.

Using AI-powered audio cleaning, Track ID will pick up the correct song even if the following alterations are applied:

Pitch-shifting through increasing or decreasing the tempo.
