New Master’s Degree Program Announced
A new master’s degree program focused on international music business has been established through a collaboration between Rennes School of Business and EMIC, a French school specializing in creative industries management.
Christian De Rosnay, manager of Justice, and Alexandra Pilz Hayot, manager of Gesaffelstein, are supporting the program. The degree will be taught in English and is scheduled to begin in September.
This program represents the first of its kind in France. Existing similar degrees in the United States and the United Kingdom generally concentrate on developing talent within their respective domestic markets. This Master of Science program is designed to focus on the specific operational, technological, and strategic requirements of developing music markets including LATAM, Asia, India, and MENA. Understanding how to distribute music globally will be a key takeaway for students.
The curriculum will be delivered through 200 hours of modules led by 11 industry executives. These include Jean-Christophe Bourgeois, General Manager at Sony Music Publishing France; Caroline Champarnaud, Executive Director International at Sacem; and Anne Hindermeyer, former Head of Legal at Believe. Antoine Monin, Managing Director of Spotify for Western Europe, will also contribute a masterclass session.
Applications are currently being accepted, with a July 1 deadline for international students seeking admission to the September 2026 intake. The evolving music industry landscape will be a core focus of the program.
Daniel Findikian, Founder and Director of EMIC, stated: “With this incredible lineup of teaching staff, we are giving young talent from around the world direct access to the people shaping the market today, alongside the keys to building a lasting international career in the music business.” As music technology reshapes the creative economy, this program aims to prepare students for the future.
