Nigerian Afrobeats artist Shallipopi has released a new single, “Allergies,” following his recent album AURACLE.
The Benin City-born musician described the track as a statement of self-preservation. “I’m on a different level now and I’m protective of that,” Shallipopi said. “‘Allergies’ is me saying some people, some vibes, I just can’t have around me. I’ve earned that. Pluto doesn’t accept everything.”
The single arrives after AURACLE, which featured collaborations with Wizkid, Burna Boy, Gunna, Swae Lee, Pa Salieu, and Rauw Alejandro. Shallipopi has accumulated more than 440 million streams over the past year.
He first broke through with the single “Elon Musk” and his debut album Planet Pluto. He was later selected for the VEVO DSCVR Artists to Watch program and ranked among Spotify Africa’s top 10 artists in the 2024 Wrapped campaign.
His track “Cast” featuring Odumodublvck spent 13 consecutive weeks at number three on the UK Afrobeats Chart. AURACLE also included contributions from Young Jonn and tracks such as “Laho,” “Like That,” and “Him.”
Shallipopi has performed at major events alongside Central Cee, Asake, Rema, and Burna Boy.
“Allergies” is now available on digital streaming platforms.
