DJ Shadow has released a sequel to his 2016 single ‘Nobody Speak’, enlisting Denzel Curry and TiaCorine for new vocal contributions.
The reworked track, titled ‘Nobody Speak Part 2’, pairs the Florida rapper and the North Carolina MC and singer with the instrumental foundation of the original. That version, issued a decade ago on Mass Appeal Records, appeared on Shadow’s album ‘The Mountain Will Fall’ and featured verses from Run the Jewels members El-P and Killer Mike.
The original single arrived during a period of political turbulence in the United States, ahead of the presidential election that preceded Donald Trump’s first term. It later accumulated more than 120 million streams on Spotify, achieved RIAA gold certification, and was licensed for numerous advertisements, film trailers and video games.
2026 also marks the 30th anniversary of Shadow’s debut album ‘Endtroducing…’, which Guinness World Records recognizes as the first album constructed entirely from samples. An extensive tour has been announced to commemorate the milestone, concluding with a one-off performance at London’s Barbican where the record will be played in full alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
