Moroccan rapper ElGrandeToto has released an expanded version of his fourth studio album, SALGOAT Vol. 2 (Extension), following the original project’s Top 10 global debut on Spotify. The extended edition adds new tracks and features collaborations with French rapper GIMS, Spanish singer Lola Indigo, Canadian singer-songwriter Charlotte Cardin and French pianist Sofiane Pamart.

Extended edition and new collaborations

The original SALGOAT Vol. 2 marked a return to the artist’s early rap style. According to information accompanying the release, the extended edition takes a broader musical direction, incorporating more melodic elements designed to reach international audiences.

Lead single ‘Mon Pays’

The first single from the expanded album, Mon Pays, was released alongside the project announcement. The track explores themes of identity, migration and attachment to Morocco, reflecting on ElGrandeToto’s journey while maintaining ties to his homeland. Its music video depicts the rapper in everyday settings, balancing family life and work, and highlights the contrast between his current lifestyle and his Moroccan roots.

Market-specific focus tracks

The release includes focus tracks tailored to different markets. Ninja, featuring GIMS, has been selected as the global focus track. Paradis, featuring Charlotte Cardin, is being promoted in Canada, while Consuela, featuring Lola Indigo, is targeted at Spain.

Streaming milestones and career context

The original SALGOAT Vol. 2 generated more than 14 million streams in its first week, with all 17 tracks entering Spotify’s Top Songs Morocco chart. SAMEDI reached the top position, and tracks including DOLORES and ROCHE MAN also performed strongly on regional playlists.

The album follows the success of the original SALGOAT, which has accumulated over 410 million streams. ElGrandeToto’s catalogue has now surpassed two billion streams worldwide. He has remained Spotify’s most-streamed artist in Morocco and across the Middle East and North Africa region for five consecutive years.
