South African singer Tyla has denied signing with Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by Jay-Z, after edited images of a fake Times Square billboard sparked widespread online speculation. The Grammy-winning artist confirmed she remains with FAX Records and Epic Records and is focused on her second studio album, APOP, due 24 July.
The rumors began when doctored images purporting to show a Roc Nation welcome billboard in New York’s Times Square circulated on social media. Fan accounts and entertainment pages shared the images as genuine, leading many to congratulate Tyla on what they assumed was a major label deal. No official confirmation ever came from either party.
Tyla addressed the claims directly on Instagram, writing:
“I’m not signed to Roc Nation.”
She then redirected attention to APOP, her forthcoming album set for release on 24 July.

Tyla is signed to FAX Records, with an exclusive licensing agreement through Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. Epic’s artist roster includes:

Her management is handled by Africa Creative Agency in partnership with HYBE, the South Korean entertainment company behind BTS.
Album Focus
With the rumor dispelled, Tyla is concentrating on APOP, which follows her international breakthrough. The album is scheduled for 24 July.
