East London venue The Lion & Lamb has severed all business relationships with co-owner Andre King after a series of abuse allegations were shared online last weekend.
In a statement issued Monday (6th), the Hoxton pub and club confirmed that all forthcoming events have been cancelled and that the team
will be ensuring that the proper legal and internal investigations take place to ensure accountability and justice is brought forward.
Co-owner Mauro Ferno addressed the claims the same day on Instagram, writing:
the allegations made against my business partner Andre King this weekend have absolutely disgusted me. I totally condemn abuse, manipulation, and any form of predatory behaviour.
The allegations surfaced predominantly through a Reddit thread and the @exposingandreking Instagram account. Multiple anonymous accounts describe alleged abuse, with some coming from people who say they previously worked at the venue and others from event attendees. Alleged victims are being encouraged to file reports with the Metropolitan Police.
Andre King has not yet issued a public response to the allegations or his removal from the venue.
As the claims circulated, several artists and promoters cancelled their scheduled events at The Lion & Lamb, including Voigtmann, Sugar Free, and Secretsundaze.
Ferno stated he had no prior knowledge of King’s behaviour, writing on Instagram that he
thought he had strange narcissistic and neurodivergent tendencies but had never imagined it was anything like what’s being alleged.
He added:
The safety and security of guests, staff, promoters, and artists is of immense importance to me and the venue team and I want to reiterate I’ve been deeply ashamed of my past association to Andre given the revelations that are emerging.
