Drake Continues Extended Promotion for Upcoming Project

Drake has been building anticipation for a project, tentatively titled ‘Iceman’, through a year-long campaign utilizing digital engagement and real-world events.

For nearly a year, Drake has been teasing a project widely anticipated to be named ‘Iceman’. The promotional campaign has deviated from conventional release schedules, employing Toronto-based events and online clues to generate discussion, with no official release date announced as of yet.

The rollout commenced in July 2025 with a “9PM” teaser that led to a YouTube livestream. This stream showcased a Toronto ice sculpting business, ‘The Iceman’, with Drake appearing as an employee. The stream concluded with the premiere of a music video featuring Drake driving an Iceman truck through Toronto streets and previewing unreleased music on the radio.

Subsequent promotions included multiple livestreams, including a December 2025 stream during which the artist discussed the final stages of recording and hinted at potential future content.

By March 2026, the strategy shifted to cryptic posts on Instagram. Recent posts have included imagery and captions referencing Drake’s response to criticism, such as a carousel with the caption “What I Was Doing When You Thought I Was Crying.”

Drake has also indicated that new music is forthcoming, messaging Dylan Garcia, a social media creator who gained attention for interpreting Drake’s lyrics, and suggesting that further analysis will be possible with the new releases.

The promotional campaign has been unique, and Music Industry Reports on First Quarter Finances and Forthcoming Releases may offer further insight into the changing landscape of music promotion.
