Frontiers Label Group has appointed Rene Erwin Mata as A&R (artists and repertoire) representative in New York, adding a veteran executive credited with early work with Maroon 5 to its North American team.
The move follows other recent Frontiers appointments, including Timo Hoffman as Head of A&R, Germany, and Nils Wasko as Head of International Label Management.
Mata will work to expand the label’s presence in North America and support emerging rock and alternative acts globally.
He brings more than two decades of experience across A&R, artist management, and music industry consulting. His previous roles include positions at:
- Sony Music
- Columbia Records
- Red Bull Records
- Razor & Tie
- Mascot Label Group
- Lava/Republic Records
Mata is credited with contributing to the early development of Maroon 5, Lovelytheband, Des Rocs, and Return To Dust. He has also worked on projects involving P.O.D., Poppy, Grey Daze, and Albert Hammond Jr.
He spent 11 years managing producers and mixers at Advanced Alternative Media and has worked as a recording artist signed to Lava, AFM Records, and Vydia.
