The Recording Academy has confirmed the addition of five new categories and a series of voting changes for the 69th Grammy Awards, which will be held on February 7, 2027.

The updated rules and category expansion were announced ahead of the ceremony, with the organization stating the moves are intended to better reflect the diversity and continued growth of the global music industry.

“These changes reflect the diversity and continued growth of the global music industry,” said Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy.

Specific details on the new categories and the revised voting procedures were not immediately disclosed.
