The 2026 FIFA World Cup delivered the most-streamed official tournament anthem in history on Spotify, as Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” amassed more than 138 million streams during the competition.

The figure shatters the previous record held by Shakira’s “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” which drew 22 million streams during the 2022 tournament. Nearly 50 million listeners streamed an official World Cup song or anthem for the first time on the platform, according to Spotify data.

Playlist creation triples

Fans built 219,000 tournament-themed playlists, almost three times the number created during the 2022 event. More than 181,000 users made a soccer-themed playlist for the first time. Collectively, these playlists generated 172 million streams, up from 46 million in 2022.

Team anthems rally support

As Spain and Argentina reached the final, listeners turned to national hits. Streams of La T y La M‘s “Pa’ la Selección,” an unofficial Argentine team anthem, jumped 270% globally and 386% among listeners in Argentina. Spanish fans streamed tracks including ROSALÍA‘s “DESPECHÁ” and Aitana‘s “SUPERESTRELLA.”

Data reflects activity through July 14, 2026.
