InterSpace Distribution, the Africa-focused independent music distribution company and technology group behind The InterSpace Group, has completed the acquisition of OneTap Link, an Australian-founded fan link and artist marketing platform established in 2018. Following the acquisition, OneTap Link will be rebranded as InterSpace SmartLinks and will operate under the full ownership and management of The InterSpace Group effective immediately.
The acquisition marks a significant expansion of InterSpace’s product portfolio beyond music distribution infrastructure, moving the company into the artist marketing and audience engagement space. InterSpace SmartLinks will provide artists, labels, and music marketing professionals with smart link and bio link technology, tools that aggregate streaming platform links, pre-save campaigns, and fan engagement data into a single shareable destination.
A Strategic Move for the African Creative Economy
For InterSpace Distribution, the acquisition is a deliberate step toward building a more complete end-to-end infrastructure for independent artists across Africa and beyond. Artists on the InterSpace platform will gain direct access to SmartLinks technology as part of their distribution experience, enabling them to market releases, track audience behaviour across DSPs, and drive streaming conversions from a single tool.
