Laufey has signed with Interscope Records/Verve Records, and Tinashe has joined MAD CREATIVE, the new management and creative company launched by Simonne Solitro. The moves are part of a week of signings spanning major labels, distribution, and agency representation.

Major Label and Management Moves

The two-time GRAMMY winner Laufey arrives at Interscope Records/Verve Records with 7 billion streams, back-to-back Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album wins for Bewitched and A Matter of Time, and a 70-date global arena tour that recently wrapped in Mexico City. The Icelandic-Chinese pop and jazz singer had previously built her career in the independent sector.

Tinashe is following her longtime manager Simonne Solitro to MAD CREATIVE, which Solitro launched after departing Timeline Management. The R&B star is preparing for her forthcoming album Popstar, due next week via Nice Life/Atlantic.

Distribution and Agency Deals

GRAMMY-nominated Chicago rapper VIC MENSA has signed a distribution deal with UnitedMasters. The partnership will bring his 2013 project INNANETAPE to streaming platforms for the first time on September 30, with a new full-length album to follow in 2027. The deal also supports MENSA’s media company ORANJ, home to The Vic Mensa Show, the Webby Award-winning Orange Tree Series, and the forthcoming film Halfrican.

deadmau5 has moved from Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to Independent Artist Group (IAG) for worldwide bookings. Griffin Perkiel, Max Rosenfield, Jarred Arfa, Nick Storch and Peter Pappalardo are handling the account. Beyond music, the electronic artist is continuing to develop several business ventures:

  • Coffee Run, his digital interview series
  • Oberhasli Games, his video game company
  • Auto/Pilot, his live-performance software platform

New Electronic and R&B Signings

UK garage and bassline producer MPH has signed to DisOrder Records/Capitol Records. His new album Here, Forever arrives November 20. Written largely in transit across 50 shows in four months, it includes a Skrillex collaboration on ‘Mirage’ and follows a run that saw Thomas Bangalter mix the new signee into his first DJ set in 16 years.

Australian R&B singer Larissa Lambert has signed with Cheryl Paglierani, Lucy Dickins, Jacqueline Reynolds-Drumm, Ella Fox, Maxim Karlik and Jibran Ahmed of CAA. The Sydney-based artist, who broke through with her 2021 cover of ‘Weak,’ which has surpassed 100 million streams, will release her debut album Yearning on November 6.
