Mr Brown Drops New Album ‘King of Melodies’

Zimbabwean producer and vocalist Mr Brown has released his new album King of Melodies, a project rooted in Southern African dance music.

Zimbabwean producer, vocalist and songwriter Mr Brown has released his latest album, King of Melodies, a project that draws on dance music influences from across Southern Africa while tracing his artistic journey.

The album incorporates lekompo alongside other regional styles, fusing dance rhythms with melodic songwriting. According to the artist, the record explores themes of perseverance, personal growth, relationships and community.

Leading the album is the single ‘Sorry’, a collaboration with Zambian singer Yo Maps and Makhadzi Entertainment. The track unites artists from different parts of Southern Africa and centres on accountability, forgiveness and love.

Throughout the album, Mr Brown continues to blend dance-oriented production with the vocal performances and songwriting that have become characteristic of his work.

In a statement, Mr Brown said:

“King of Melodies is a celebration of the journey that has brought me here. Every challenge, every victory and every lesson has shaped this music. More than anything, this album is for the people who believed in me from the beginning and continue to walk this journey with me. Thank you for making this our story, our sound and our moment.”

The album credits include contributions from Hlomisa Nqayana, Mbongeni Yaka, Nkululeko Njapa, Satiate Chauke and Mpumelelo Xaba.
