Estonia-based ticketing group PLG has acquired iaBilet, a leading Romanian ticketing platform that processed more than four million tickets in 2024, extending a rapid consolidation push across Central and Eastern Europe.
The transaction sees PLG purchase the full stakes held by iaBilet’s co-founders: CEO Emil Ionescu, COO Razvan Manta, and CTO Daniel Cute-Petric, along with the 82.5% interest acquired by private equity firm Resource Partners in September 2024. The co-founders are expected to remain with the business.
“This was my dream when I started iaBilet almost 15 years ago: to be part of something big, powerful and results-driven, so that we can conquer the world with our honest and game-changing services, and to innovate and grow a powerful group together. I am honored to be part of PLG’s dream and to grow it into reality by building a much stronger business together.”
The deal follows a string of acquisitions by PLG over the past 18 months, including:
- Ticketstream
- Ticketportal
- bilete.ro
- entertix.ro
- myticket.ro
PLG plans to continue investing in AI-driven solutions and developing shared technology capabilities across its portfolio. The acquisition is subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
