Soundplate has acquired Stemmer, an audio technology company whose AI (artificial intelligence) mastering services support more than 20 music platforms and websites. The two companies had a long-standing partnership before the deal.
Soundplate has moved Stemmer’s audio algorithms fully in-house. Its engineering team extracted the core algorithms and built a new proprietary serverless mastering API (application programming interface) from scratch.
That serverless architecture now powers Soundplate’s consumer-facing tools:
- a redesigned online mastering tool
- a vinyl mastering engine
- an AI stem splitter
Support for Stemmer’s legacy white-label services will continue, with the aim of avoiding disruption for existing recording, distributor, and online platform customers.
