Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “APT.” Declared Top Global Single

“APT.”, a collaboration between Rosé and Bruno Mars, has been confirmed as the best-selling global single of 2025.

The collaboration between Rosé and Bruno Mars, titled “APT.,” has been identified as the official best-selling global single for 2025. The determination followed a year noted for strong competition in the chart.

The track reached the number one position in a year that featured globally successful songs with sustained popularity. This marks the first time the chart has been topped by artists not based in North America or Europe, and the first time a winning single has included lyrics in a language other than English, illustrating the expanding global reach of recorded music.

The release benefited from internationally coordinated efforts by record labels, aligning promotional activity across radio, digital platforms, and marketing initiatives to maintain visibility and audience engagement. This win represents Bruno Mars’ first number one single since “Just The Way You Are” in 2011.

“Golden” by HUNTR/X ranked second, performing strongly despite being released mid-year. The top ten also highlighted the significance of collaborations, including “Die With A Smile” by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga at number four, and “luther” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA at number eight.

In a first for the chart, each of the top five singles from 2024 remained in the chart throughout 2025, and eight of the year’s top ten singles were originally released in previous years. This longevity is attributed to ongoing label investment in audience development and the continued promotion of successful tracks.

Alex Warren debuted on the chart with “Ordinary” at number three, one of two 2025 releases in the top ten. Other debuts included Gracie Abrams with “That’s So True” at number nine, sombr with “back to friends” at number sixteen, and Ravyn Lenae’s “Love Me Not” at number twenty.

“Rosé and Bruno Mars topping the chart with ‘APT.’ is a landmark moment, not least as it’s the first time a winning single has featured non-English lyrics. This year’s results also underline the global reach of today’s music market, with songs connecting across languages and borders.”

The chart measures track consumption, including downloads and streams from both subscription and free services, and translates this data into chart units using a methodology based on economic factors in each region. An adjustment was made to the methodology in 2024 to better reflect subscription stream values, meaning results are not directly comparable to those from 2023 and earlier.

The chart is based on data reported directly by record labels, converted using a methodology developed in collaboration with those labels to reflect global commercial success by combining sales and stream data with country-level economic factors.
