Cites “rising licensing costs” as the key reason
Apple Music has implemented a series of price rises across its subscription packages in the US, the UK, and Europe. Other territories are expected to follow.
In the US, the Individual plan rises from $10.99 a month to $11.99.
The Family plan jumps from $16.99 to $19.99 per month.
The Student plan is now $6.99, up from $5.99.
In the UK, the Individual plan is up to £11.99 from £10.99.
In Europe, the Individual plan rises to €11.99 from €10.99.
Apple Music attributes the increases to “rising licensing costs.”
These are the service’s first price rises since October 2022.
Earlier this year Spotify lifted its prices in the US and other markets, as did Amazon Music and YouTube Music.
