The Malachite Group has launched TMG Talent, a new agency dedicated to representing African artists and creating opportunities for international acts across the continent. South African pop star Tyla has been confirmed as the agency’s first client.

Obi Asika, founder of The Malachite Group, will lead TMG Talent. He previously served as Co-Head of United Talent Agency UK (UTA) and founded Echo Location Talent Agency. The team also includes Jen Martin, former Music Operations Manager at UTA.

TMG Talent will primarily focus on signing African clientele. Tyla’s activities will be managed in partnership with The Team, African Creative Agency, We Make Music, and Hype Management. Future signings will similarly leverage agency collaborations to coordinate tours, appearances, and other opportunities in Africa.

“Africa is the fastest-growing and most culturally influential region in the world today, and our mission is twofold. For TMG Talent to find, develop, and promote African talent on a global stage and to be the trusted partner for existing talent agencies to unlock touring and financial opportunities and engage with audiences across the continent.”
