South African singer-songwriter Umzulu Phaqa has released “Unlimited Budget,” a gospel-pop single that serves as the second preview of her forthcoming debut album, Umzulu Phaqa, Volume 1.

The track follows her earlier single “Thakatha Njalo,” which introduced a blend of contemporary pop production and isiZulu storytelling. “Unlimited Budget” centres on themes of faith, resilience, and divine provision, with its central hook translating to “My God has an unlimited budget.”

The song uses financial language as a metaphor for spiritual abundance, framing the message not as a pursuit of material wealth but as a statement of trust in support that exceeds human limitation. Its production merges pop rhythms with gospel-influenced vocal delivery.

The single is part of a larger project that the artist describes as an exploration of different interpretations of pop music. The album draws on diverse influences while maintaining a foundation in African musical identity, incorporating modern production techniques alongside traditional soundscapes.

Influences cited include South African icons Brenda Fassie and Lebo Mathosa, as well as international pop acts such as Sabrina Carpenter.

Originally from KwaZulu-Natal, Umzulu Phaqa fuses modern pop styles with isiZulu storytelling, often focusing on cultural themes, everyday experiences, and emotional resilience. She is scheduled to perform at several festivals in 2026:

  • Basha Uhuru Festival
  • For You & Everybody
  • Rose Fest

“Unlimited Budget” is now available on major digital streaming platforms. The album Umzulu Phaqa, Volume 1 is expected later this year, expanding on the themes introduced in her singles.
