Kelela and PinkPantheress have released a new collaborative single, ‘the bridge’, ahead of Kelela’s third studio album ‘new avatar’ out this Friday (10th July) via Warp Records.
The track joins previously released singles ‘idea 1’, ‘link nb’, ‘point blank’ and ‘outta time’ on the LP, which draws inspiration from Kelela’s roots in Washington, D.C.’s independent music scene and features guest contributions from A.K. Paul and Fousheé.
‘new avatar’ marks Kelela’s second full-length project of the year, following the live album ‘In The Blue Light’, recorded during a one-off performance at New York’s The Blue Note jazz club in May 2025.
The album will be supported by the previously announced New Avatar Live world tour, which begins in North America on 8th September and moves to Europe in the autumn, including a show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 4th November. Tickets are on sale now.
An accompanying video for ‘the bridge’ is scheduled for release on 10th July.

The remix edition of Kelela’s 2023 album ‘Raven’ featured edits from Loraine James, Shygirl, DJ Swisha, and others.
Earlier this year, PinkPantheress released the music video for ‘Girl Like Me’ with Davina McCall and shared a Four Tet remix of her single ‘Illegal’. She also became the first woman to win the BRITs Producer of the Year award.
