The partnership will focus on artist-direct development and building lasting careers

MCA has entered a partnership with Nashville-based label ONE4 Records, which was founded by industry veteran Brian Wright and Red Light Management’s Coran Capshaw.

As per Music Row, the partnership “shares a focus on artist-first development, songwriting and building lasting careers.”

Music executive Katherine Godwin joins as ONE4’s Creative Director.

The label plans to grow its creative and operational team, with more announcements expected shortly.

News on artist signings will also be forthcoming.

Wright is a 25-year veteran of Universal Music Group, departing the company in 2023 after serving as Executive VP of A&R.

He helped shape some of the biggest albums of the past decade, such as Chris Stapleton’s Traveller and Jon Pardi’s California Sunrise.

Mike Harris, President & CEO of MCA: “At MCA, we believe the future of this business belongs to companies that are willing to invest deeply in artists, songwriting, and long-term creative development. Brian has one of the strongest creative instincts in the business, and alongside Coran and the ONE4 team, we’re creating an environment where artists can develop authentically and sustainably with the support and infrastructure of MCA behind them.”

Brian Wright: “A&R is the driving force behind what we’re building. With the support and resources of the partners invested in this venture, we have the flexibility to follow whatever path best serves the artist and their music.”
