Global sync agency Nothing Standard has expanded into music publishing and recorded music, launching Nothing Standard Publishing in partnership with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) and Nothing Standard Recordings with distribution via Virgin Music Group (VMG).
The agency, which handles sync representation for a range of independent labels, management companies, and catalogs, said the new ventures are built with sync at their core, drawing on its track record and relationships across the global creative industries.
Its existing sync roster includes:
- Indie labels: Sub Pop, Stones Throw, Moshi Moshi Records, co:brand, DAP, gamma., Artist Theory
- Management companies: Various Artists Management, September, Method Music
- Catalogs: Seeker Music Group, Bella Figura Music, Rezonate, and others
Morgan Harper-Jones is the first signing to Nothing Standard Publishing. Her upcoming EP, Water Under The Bridge, will be released on July 29 via co:brand.
Nothing Standard Recordings’ first releases arrived in June, coinciding with sync placements in the Amazon Prime Video film Your Fault: London.
“Over the past five years, we’ve been trusted to represent exceptional catalogs and connect their music with audiences around the world. These new ventures allow us to bring that same philosophy to music we’re developing ourselves, working alongside artists and songwriters from the earliest stages of the creative process.”
