The InterSpace Group Launches SEAM, AI Music Detection

PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria, November 5, 2026. The InterSpace Group today launched SEAM, an audio-recognition service that tells music companies whether a track was likely generated by AI, so they can act before they sign it, license it or deliver it to the stores. SEAM is live now at seam.interspacemusic.com, and the first 1,000 tracks are scanned free.
SEAM, which stands for Sonic Evidence of AI in Music, listens to the audio itself rather than the metadata or the uploader's word. For each track it returns a plain verdict, Likely human, Likely AI, or Unsure, together with a likelihood that shows how strong the signal is. It is built for the teams who carry the risk when a track's origin is unclear: record labels, distributors, sync and licensing agencies, publishers and catalog buyers.
The service is deliberately advisory. SEAM never rejects, holds or approves a track on its own. Each verdict goes to a person, and the team decides what happens next. The company describes SEAM as a check that works alongside disclosure rather than a replacement for it, and as evidence for a human to weigh rather than a verdict to automate.
Why now
Generative tools can now produce a finished-sounding master from a prompt, and those tracks are entering distribution, sync pitches and catalogs that change hands for money. Streaming services have tightened their rules on undisclosed AI and artificial activity through the year, and InterSpace Distribution itself made AI disclosure mandatory for every release in May. But disclosure is self-reported, and it depends on the person uploading a track knowing and telling the truth, which is not a given when a file has passed through several hands. SEAM gives teams an independent read on the audio when the paperwork is not enough.
Who it is for
- Labels and A&R, screening demos and incoming catalog before it carries their name.
- Distributors, running quality control before a release reaches the stores, where undisclosed AI can trigger a takedown or a strike against the account that delivered it.
- Sync and licensing teams, and music supervisors, who increasingly have to answer a brand or a broadcaster asking whether any part of a track was made by AI.
- Publishers and catalog buyers, for whom a catalog's share of undisclosed AI material is now part of what it is worth.
How it works
- Send a track to SEAM through the web console or the API.
- SEAM analyses the audio and returns a verdict, Likely human, Likely AI or Unsure, with a likelihood.
- The verdict reaches your team, which decides what to do with it.
The API lets distributors and catalog tools run SEAM inside their own pipelines, so a track can be checked as part of delivery or ingestion instead of by hand. The first 1,000 tracks are scanned free, so a team can test SEAM against music whose origin it already knows before relying on it on music it does not.
"Everyone in music licensing is now asking the same question about tracks they used to take on trust: was this made by AI? SEAM answers it from the audio, in plain language, and leaves the decision with the people who know their catalog. We built it because our own distribution business needed it, and we are opening it to every label, distributor and rights holder who needs the same answer. It is an advisory signal, not a gatekeeper, and that is exactly the point."
Eric Okechukwu, Founder & CEO, The InterSpace Group
Availability
SEAM is available now at seam.interspacemusic.com, with free scans for the first 1,000 tracks and an API for teams that want to run it at volume. It is built and operated by The InterSpace Group.
