Seeker Music has relaunched its record label subsidiary, music is fun, with a mandate to actively mine the company’s catalog for new recordings. The rights company, founded by songwriter Evan Bogart (whose credits include Beyoncé and Rihanna), holds a portfolio valued at more than $400 million that spans works by Joan Jett, Christopher Cross, Run the Jewels, Jay Sean and others.

The revived label will pair contemporary artists, songwriters and producers with songs from the Seeker catalog to create samples, interpolations, remixes and full re-imaginings. Seeker will identify concepts, assemble collaborators and release the resulting music. The first release is a rework of The Go-Go’s classic ‘Vacation’ by Flo Rida and Sage the Gemini; the original was written by Charlotte Caffey, whose catalog Seeker represents.

The relaunch builds on the company’s Samplémoose program, which has already given artists and songwriters access to the catalog through writing camps, streamlined sample-clearance opportunities and direct creative partnerships. That approach has yielded hits including Shaboozey’s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’, which interpolates J-Kwon’s ‘Tipsy’, as well as placements with Drake, Pop Smoke, Megan Thee Stallion and Sza.

“At Seeker, we believe celebrating great music isn’t just about preserving legacy. It’s about extending it by introducing the songs we love to new generations. In the six years since we formed the company, we’ve shown through hits with Shaboozey, Pop Smoke, Coco Jones, Drake, and more, that we know how to take an incredible song and re-invent it. What we’re building with music is fun is 30-plus years of knowing how to make and break records, now pointed on purpose at everything we acquire.”
