Wisin has signed with D27 Entertainment, and Alabama country duo Muscadine Bloodline have joined The Trenches/Republic Records. The signings were among several announced this week across Latin, country, gospel, hip-hop, alternative and electronic music.
Latin and country signings
- Wisin has signed with D27 Entertainment after a long working relationship with Walter Kolm. The company was founded by his manager Chris Duque, who steps out independently. The signing arrives alongside the September launch of La Universidad del Perreo, a 12-track album and educational platform.
- Muscadine Bloodline, the Alabama duo of Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton, have joined The Trenches/Republic Records after more than a decade as independents. The duo bring over 1 billion streams and the Platinum singles Me On You and Porch Swing Angel to the deal. Their new single Escatawpa Hollow is due September 18.
Gospel, hip-hop and alternative
- Kirk Franklin has announced a partnership with Uptown Records that brings his Fo Yo Soul Entertainment and TRIBL Music Group into the label. The 20-time GRAMMY winner is marking the deal with the single Thank You for Everything, featuring gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard of the Clark Sisters.
- Texas rapper BigXthaPlug has signed with THE·TEAM for worldwide booking representation through Kevin Shivers, James Rubin, Tessie Lammle and Max Mirabella. His latest album I Hope You’re Happy was released last year with features from Ella Langley, Jelly Roll and Shaboozey. A follow-up has been teased online.
- New York City alt-pop artist Thoom has signed with Hallwood Media for records and management, with Niki Zahedi stepping in. Her debut album Everyday, Everything Is At Stake, executive produced by Dylan Brady of 100 gecs, arrives with early co-signs from Addison Rae, Clairo and Kim Petras. She is slated to be direct support for Bassvictim’s US tour, which begins in a few weeks.

- Los Angeles producer and DJ Juos has signed with Helix Records. The deal is marked by the new release Tequila Bounce, a collaboration with Canadian house act No Thanks and Los Angeles vocal collective NEVVE.
