Distiller Records and Speedy Wunderground have formed a partnership that gives the UK independent label access to Distiller’s marketing, distribution and operational resources while preserving its creative control. The first release under the arrangement is Heartworms’ new single, “Guess I’m Stuck In The Dark.”
Speedy Wunderground will continue to direct its own artists and repertoire (A&R) and production. Its founder, producer Dan Carey, said the labels expect to work together on projects ranging from quickly made punk records to larger campaigns.
Speedy Wunderground has provided early opportunities for Black Country, New Road, Squid, Black Midi and English Teacher. Distiller Records’ roster includes Blossoms, Yonaka, Reverend & The Makers, Sports Team and The Ramona Flowers. Distiller managing director James Moodie said the partnership would give Speedy Wunderground’s artists a broader platform and more resources.
