Arca has announced a new 16-track album, ‘XXXXX’, scheduled for release on 31 July via XL Recordings. The news was accompanied by a global radio takeover on 17 July, during which the Venezuelan artist aired previously unheard material.
The album will be previewed through a livestream titled Diva.Experimental on 23 July. Directed by Daniel Sannwald and styled by Akeem Smith, the broadcast is described as offering an immersive glimpse into the album’s world ahead of its official release.
During the radio takeover, Arca took over a number of stations, including Kiosk Radio, NTS Radio, UCLA Radio, DUBLAB, and East Village Radio. A 30-minute project titled ‘Airdoll’ was aired as part of the broadcast and later made available on SoundCloud.
Arca’s last full-length album, ‘Kick IIIII’, was released in 2021 as the final installment of the KICK series. In 2025, she composed the score for Bairro Triste by photographer and music video director Stillz. Earlier this year, she released a remix of Robyn‘s single ‘Sexistential’, which appears on Robyn’s album of the same name.
Arca also appears in Madonna‘s new short film Confessions II: The Film. The 14-minute piece, directed by the duo Torso, accompanies Madonna’s album of the same name and also features Honey Dijon and Cole Palmer.
