Save The Music will hold its seventh annual Hometown to Hometown fundraiser on Tuesday, November 10, at City Winery in Nashville, Tennessee.
All proceeds will support music education in under-resourced public high schools in Nashville, New York City and across California, reaching thousands of students.
Honorees and performers
The event will recognize four honorees for their contributions to the music industry and support for music education:
- Amy Grant
- Chris Isaak
- Cesar Gueikian of Gibson Guitars
- Nat Zilkha of Firebird Music
Leslie Fram and Caylee Hammack will host. Grant, Isaak and Amanda Shires will give acoustic performances.
Sponsors include Firebird Music, Gibson Gives, SiriusXM and Sweetwater.
Support for school music programs
Mike Clem, chief executive officer of Sweetwater, the nation’s largest online music retailer, described the company’s support:
“Every musician we serve started somewhere, and for a lot of our friends that somewhere was a music room in a public school,”
“Save The Music makes sure those rooms exist and are inspiring. Supporting Hometown to Hometown is one of the most direct ways we can put instruments in the hands of students who might not otherwise get the chance.”
Danielle Zalaznick, Save The Music’s chief development officer and deputy executive director, said the organization is approaching three decades of supporting public school music programs.
Since 2019, Hometown to Hometown has raised more than $1 million, funding 15 music programs in honorees’ hometowns and reaching thousands of students nationwide.
