Chris Wright, co-founder of Chrysalis, has launched Right Tracks, a boutique publishing and label company.
The launch signifies Wright’s return to the music industry following a decade-long absence.
Wright co-founded Chrysalis in 1968, and the company subsequently represented artists including Jethro Tull, Pat Benatar, Billy Idol, and Huey Lewis and The News.
He also held the position of Chairman of the BPI and initiated the British Record Industry Awards in 1982, which preceded the BRIT Awards.
Joseph Spiteri is A&R Director at Right Tracks. Roberta Moore serves as Sync Manager, Naomi Wallace as Rights Manager, and Ellen Sorlan as Finance Manager.
According to a company statement, Right Tracks intends to offer access, expertise, and long-term support within the current music industry environment.
The company’s services encompass rights management, registrations, royalty administration, synchronization licensing, and catalog planning for songwriters and estates.
Black Lounge, an indie rock band from Essex, and Flora Fiora, a singer-songwriter from Gloucestershire, have signed both label and publishing agreements.
Finn Forster, a singer-songwriter from Middlesborough, and Stuart Brayson have signed publishing deals.
Brayson has composed 28 musicals that have been staged in London’s West End, on Broadway, and internationally, including From Here to Eternity.
Chris Wright stated: “I’m aware that the matrix of how one operates have changed significantly from my heyday and that replicating the kind of success we had with artists like Debbie Harry of Blondie, David Bowie, Ultravox, Huey Lewis, and Spandau Ballet to name just a few will not come easy. We are however really excited about the new talent we have discovered, and we are totally committed to doing everything possible to develop them into the superstars of tomorrow. It will be an honor and a privilege to be associated with success of this nature should it happen. And hopefully it will!”
